As the first comprehensive national medical center project unit in China, Zhongshan Hospital Fudan University adheres to innovation driven development. Recently, during the Asia Medical Week and Asia Medical Innovation and Development Forum hosted by the hospital, the "Shanghai International Medical Science and Technology Innovation Center · Excellence Innovation Center" signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Dunwill Medical on cooperation of clinical research development, and new technology application, accelerating the cooperation between the two parties to new heights.
At the meeting, Cang Jing, vice president of Zhongshan Hospital Fudan University, and Wen Dong, chairman and founder of Dunwill Medical, attended the signing ceremony on behalf of both parties. Fan Jia, academician of the CAS Member, honorary president of Zhongshan Hospital Fudan University, director of Shanghai International Medical Science Innovation Center, Gu Jianying, secretary of the Party Committee of Zhongshan Hospital Fudan University, and Zhou Jian, president of Zhongshan Hospital Fudan University, attended and witnessed the signing ceremony.
The "Shanghai International Medical Science and Technology Innovation Center · Excellent Innovation Center" will establish a new paradigm of "medical research, production, and government" five forces linkage to jointly promote the innovation and development of biomedicine. In the future, medical enterprises will carry out cooperative research, academic exchanges, and talent cultivation in multiple fields such as reagents, instruments, equipment, and artificial intelligence, incubating more outstanding achievements that directly benefit patients and people's health.
Dunwill Medical, based on years of accumulated experience in integrating omics transformation research and the industrial transformation experience of original biomarker in vitro diagnostic products, has jointly established the "Shanghai International Medical Science and Technology Innovation Center · Excellent Innovation Center" with Zhongshan Hospital under the framework of the "Shanghai International Medical Science and Technology Innovation Center · Spatiotemporal Genomics Precision Diagnosis and Treatment Excellent Innovation Center". It is a brand new medical engineering joint research and development lab, which will focus on important clinical problems and core clinical pain points, focusing on the two research directions of "integrated analysis of disease dynamic multidimensional omics information and exploration of new diagnostic and treatment targets" and "mapping of disease spatiotemporal characteristics by AI driven digital pathological multidimensional modeling", which will develop achieve research and development of pioneering original in vitro diagnostic and therapeutic products in China and even the world.
This is another iteration and upgrade between Dunwill Medical and Zhongshan Hospital after "Zhongshan - Dunwill Institute for Translational Theranostics" on the path of innovation and transformation of the two parties. With the implementation of this cooperation, both parties will further deepen their cooperation and mutual benefit in scientific research, talent cultivation, academic exchanges, and achievement transformation in the fields of medical frontiers, clinical research, and medical engineering intersection, and jointly contribute to the innovative development of the medical field.
